The rest of the weekend we laid low (save for a quick Chuck E Cheese trip Savvy had been promised) and stuffed ourselves on Barbara's amazing cooking. I think the pasta alone put four pounds on me-- four happy, happy pounds. Now we're back home and (at the risk of jinxing something) waiting to hear back from the bank on a home we put an offer on. We REALLY want it and think it would be the perfect house for our family long term... but what's meant to be will be. We have our fingers crossed-- why don't you go ahead and cross yours, too?

Savvy in the City
We had a spectacular weekend in the city with Savvy's Nana and Grandpa Salt. Friday night we headed down to their house and went into San Francisco for dinner at the Tonga Room in the Fairmont Hotel on Nob Hill. The hotel itself was gorgeous and the Tonga Room's $9 appetizer buffet and pina coladas could not be beat. We were treated to an impromptu city tour on the way back home, zigzagging down Lombard street, checking out the view from Coit Tower (breathtaking) and zipping up and down some of the steepest hills in town before driving through the neighborhoods Jim and Barbara grew up in. Savvy thought the hills were roller coasters and kept shouting at D and I to "put your hands up!" ...she loved Grandpa Salt's speedy driving and kept asking for encores.
