Recharge

We have had the best couple days recharging our batteries. Friday night we met up with Savvy's Uncle Matt and Uncle John and her Aunties Laura and Anne-- as well as Cody, Kyan and Lexie at Incredible John's Pizza. The kids rode a bunch of rides and had a blast chasing each other around the premises. The adults had fun chowing down on tiny donuts and catching up. We're all planning a big camping trip (along with Cindy and Doreen) in August-- I can't wait. Today I did something I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember: took a cookie decorating class at an awesome bakery in Oakland. D and Savvy accompanied me down to Miette at Jack London Square, where I got to mix my own royal icing, make a ton of different colors and let someone else clean up my mess. It was seriously one of the funnest things I've done in years. Being a pastry chef would seriously be my dream job. On the way home from the bay we stopped at a huge field of sunflowers in West Sacramento to snap a few pictures and let Savvy poke around. Now we're back home and settling in for an evening of slacking and library movie rental viewing. Hope your weekend's shaping up to be just as much fun!
