We had a great day. We went to our friend Diana's house for an early dinner, which was fabulous-- who knew Tofurkey was so delicious?! We had planned on catching a movie that afternoon, but Savvy's napping schedule didn't agree with our plans. Instead we ended up heading home and reading some of our new books. This evening we were thoroughly entertained by a bizarre story about two tigers getting lose at the San Francisco Zoo (though not entertained by the fact that they hurt people). We just kept thinking, "Wow. So imagine you live in the Sunset district, and you're walking your dog on the beach Christmas night, and you see something in the distance... and you think
that kind of looks like a tiger. And then you keep walking, and you realize,
oh, it is." Anyway, it just struck us as odd.
So back to the point, for our new Bailey-Gardner family tradition we stuffed Savvy into the snowsuit her Grandma Tita and Grandpa Bob bought her (might I add she bore a striking resemblance to a pink version of Stay Puft, the marshmallow man?) and drove over to Dovewood Court to see some Christmas lights. Savvy was fascinated by all the different color lights and seemed to enjoy the experience. At any rate, it was definitely better than our last trip to Dovewood, which was slightly Griswald-ish. I was driving my old Honda Accord, and we got to the end of the cul de sac, stuck in a long line of cars with people gawking at the pretty lights, when I realized my car was starting to overheat. Denise started to panic because she'd just had knee surgery and was on crutches, so she couldn't walk home if we needed to. So we're hanging out the windows, waving cars and pedestrians out of the way, screaming "Move kids! The car is over heating! Move!"
Needless to say, this was a far more pleasant trip. :)
